Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service missions (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), along with other US federal agencies.

The Cost and Pricing Analyst will conduct cost pricing and business metrics for the organization; establish, monitor and analyze costing infrastructure that correlates with pricing decisions, management reporting, and ad hoc analyses; establish processes and framework for Financial components of project submissions; performs cost risk analyses; resolve technical, cost and cost risk issues; ensure bids remain within cost target; provides price costing for government contracts & solicitations; interact with business unit, finance, and senior management.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and preparation of cost/price proposals in response to RFP requirements, and compliance with all Government and regulatory compliance including proper documentation and process and procedures
  • Prepare pricing volumes to be prepared consistent with company policies and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance as necessary
  • Assist in the development of pricing strategies and interpreting solicitation requirements for proposals
  • Conduct cost/price and profitability analyses for various types of quotes and proposals.
  • Research and assist proposal team with analysis of historical cost data for use as a Basis of Estimates for Proposals
  • Participate in Proposal reviews, other audits with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)/Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), or other customers and/or agencies as needed
  • Assist the VP of Business Development and VP of Business Operations with other special projects as required.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance or Accounting (BA)
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to details
  • Well-developed financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting is an advantage
  • Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations; ability to review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities;
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; ability to create and use sophisticated financial modeling;
  • Expose to a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows-like interface, proficient use of Microsoft office suites such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access;
  • Flexible and adaptable to change priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignments and be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors, and conversations to what matters most; bring out the best in others and recognize the value in every person’s contributions; ability to work independently being proactive to resolve work issues or notify supervisor of resources needed; ability to coordinate with other employees and as part of a team
  • Proficient in English both written and oral.
