The HVAC Engineer will create designs and drawings for HVAC and plumbing systems, coordinate electrical requirements of HVAC and plumbing equipment, coordinate with piped utility services and general fire protection requirements to meet project objectives.

The place of performance will be in White City, Oregon. This contract has been awarded to Planate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research, design, fabricate, and install HVAC mechanical equipment to meet client’s requirements
  • Consult on HVAC system and equipment design for a wide range of projects, and work with other engineers, project managers, and construction professionals as needed to create and/or modify design parameters
  • Analyze HVAC systems and equipment when necessary to find inefficiencies or malfunctions and create solutions to optimize performance and increase the efficiency of operation.
  • Design testing procedures and control equipment to accurately assess products and identify areas that require modification and further testing
  • Communicate directly with the client to understand project requirements, goals, design specifications, and operational environments in order to evaluate cost, feasibility, and implementation of new HVAC equipment
  • Attend regular project meetings with the project team
  • Coordinate with project management and other disciplines for scheduling and design
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC design and engineering
  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Knowledge of HVAC & Plumbing systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • General computer proficiency and specifically in design and calculation software; MS Excel; MS Word
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must lawfully reside in the United States and be eligible for employment (Planate does not sponsor visas or work permits)
