Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agenciesall over the world.

The Senior Civil Engineer will be supporting the PMG GTSC Group for reviewing and assisting all the activities which consist of all aspects of civil engineering works. You will also be the backfill of the Construction Manager who will be on a temporary overseas work assignment and act as the point of contact for all the projects either in the US or in the Philippines. The majority of your work will support the large Shipyard Project located in Subic Zambales.

Project Duration: 4 months. The company will provide accommodation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Devises new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices
  • Perform design work for new construction, renovations and improvement projects
  • Interpret and adapt traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards
  • Provide civil design services including preparation of civil/site work drawings, structural evaluations and designs
  • Follow and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for design review and project mobilization as necessary
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment
  • Performing construction management duties including reviewing construction documents and submittals, performing and documenting daily inspections, and assisting with project punch lists
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications To be successful in the role:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Civil Engineer is required
  • Minimum 10 years design and field experience with knowledge on preparation of civil/site work drawings, civil evaluations, and plans
  • With experience in shipyard industry utilizing AutoCAD and 3D modeling, ideal
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office Applications
  • Proficient in English both written and oral
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new technologies
  • Possess a Philippine Passport and a Driver’s License
  • Experience in design and construction of underwater infrastructure is an advantage
