Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service missions (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), along with other US federal agencies.

The Demand Forecast Modeling Engineer will be responsible for assessing the existing electricity demand and demand forecast development using appropriate forecasting methods to help support the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) project activities.

The place of performance will be in Kabul, Afghanistan.

This position is contingent to the award of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support in assessment of existing electricity demand and development of demand forecast
  • Support development of demand forecasting model for DABS
  • Demand modeling
  • On-the-job trainings for the DABS personnel involved in modeling
  • Assist other team members as required.

Qualifications to be successful in the role: 

  • Degree in economics / finance / electrical engineering/ IT with work on economics
  • Minimum of 15 years’ working experience in similar assignments, including at least 10 years of relevant international assignments (outside his/her country of origin), with strong proven experience in demand forecast
  • Good communication skills and competency working with counterpart staff are required
  • Proficient in English both written and oral.
