Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service missions (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), along with other US federal agencies.

The International Architect will be responsible to help the Team leader to supply architectural design and details to develop a Master Plan for Construction, Renovation, Upgrading and Redevelopment of the National Institute of Education (NIE) campus located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This is contingent on the award of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input on architectural design and detail to the site rehabilitation and development proposed by the Team Leader (Civil Engineer), including conceptual design of the Specialized Library for Education
  • Present during the discussions of Master Plan development options to NIE management and provide interior designs and lists of materials and their specifications that would be suitable for use in Cambodia’s environment
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • At least 10 years’ post graduate experience of architectural design of new building and renovation and upgrading of existing building in the education sector in tropical environment
  • Knowledgeable and with previous experience of restoration techniques for heritage buildings
  • Able to exercise good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
