Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service missions (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), along with other US federal agencies.

The National Architect will be responsible to help the Team leader to supply architectural design and details to develop a Master Plan for Construction, Renovation, Upgrading and Redevelopment of the National Institute of Education (NIE) campus located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 

This is contingent on the award of the contract. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop architectural aspects of optional designs for the construction, renovation, upgrading and redevelopment of the NIE campus
  • Compare the cost of options in the draft Master Plan and develop them further into outline designs for the recommended first phase of site development
  • Work with the National Civil Engineer to firm up phased costs estimates of site development options
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture
  • With 8 years’ post graduate experience of design of new buildings and renovation and upgrading of existing buildings in the education sector in Cambodia
  • Knowledgeable and with previous experience of restoration techniques for heritage buildings
  • Able to exercise good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
