Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.

Biomedical Engineer will prepare equipment bid documents (medical and nonmedical) and will develop technical specifications providing in- and outpatient services. Also, will review construction drawings and equipment fittings. This is to support the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan (MOHSPP).

The work of assignment will be in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

This is contingent on the award of the contract.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Handle cost of material estimates, assemble and calibrate hospital equipment and instruments
  • Prepare technical reports and demonstrate engineering hospital techniques and procedure to new technical staff members
  • Review of construction drawings, equipment fittings
  • Supervise hospital installation works and commissioning of medical and non-medical equipment
  • Ensures that procurement of medical and non-medical equipment is within company regulations
  • Responsible for staff training (managerial and technical) for individual and institutional capacity building
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • SC or equivalent in biomedical engineering with least 10 years of experiences in hospital equipment planning and management
  • Experience in supervising of installation works and commissioning of medical and non-medical equipment in at least 3 hospital projects
  • Experience with the procurement of equipment under ADB or other IFI (e.g. WB) regulations
  • Knowledgeable in maintaining system development in health care facilities (buildings and equipment) preferably in countries with similar economic background
  • Able to provide Staff training (managerial and technical) for individual and institutional capacity building
  • Experience working with top-management of national ministries and local authorities would be an advantage
  • Experience working in Central Asia region will be an advantage
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal skills
  • Able to speak Russian or Tajik is a plus.
